When our 6 year old son joined Team Black Belt two years ago, he enjoyed it so much that our then 4 year old son joined too. Both boys have taken part in karate displays, and when our eldest son competed in his first competition he won a silver medal, which was such a proud moment for us all.
Our youngest son was very shy when he began Little Dragons, but his confidence has soared since he began and we owe that to Mike. Mike teaches the children respect and builds up confidence in themselves. Most importantly, the boys have learnt some fantastic life skills and they enjoy every lesson!

We are very happy to do a testimonial for Team Black Belt as we think it is fantastic. I asked my daughters (aged 9 & 6) what they thought of it, and the eldest said 'Mike is a really good teacher and makes things fun, and when we learn Karate he makes it enjoyable for little ones and big ones', and the youngest said 'It's really good!'.
As a Police Officer, I particularly like the little talks you do on personal safety, which fills a void as no one else does this. My wife thinks Mike has a great way with the kids and is impressed with the 'clean and safe environment' the children train in. Best of all they happily put down their electronic games to come to karate!

Team Black Belt has really helped our son. We were desperate before he joined Team Black Belt, he had no confidence and was having lots of trouble at school with bullying. He had just started a new school and was suffering with anxiety but Mike welcomed and really helped him with building his confidence, showing him different moves and techniques to handle situations that he finds himself in at school, and how to deal with them.
He really enjoys going to Team Black Belt and his confidence is now growing all the time. He now says if he gets into a situation now, he feels he can handle it better and protect himself, which is great to hear him say. Mike really supported us too through a difficult time, showing us websites to research bullying, asking us if we were ok and how our son was getting on at school. I'm really pleased I've found Team Black Belt.

My two daughters started karate at Team Black Belt almost 2 years ago in Little Dragons and are now in Karate Kids. Both of my girls thoroughly enjoy the sessions and it is the one activity they do that they never want to miss.
Karate has helped their confidence and concentration as well as being of great benefit to their overall fitness and flexibility. Ultimately the skills they have learnt and continue to build on may give them the chance to defend themselves should they ever need to, but they have never shown any aggression as a result of attending Karate. The discipline and organisation have helped improve their overall temperament and their respect for others.
Both girls like Mike, he is strict, but very fair and controls the sessions very well. My son couldn't wait to start Little Dragons having seen his elder sisters taking part and he thoroughly enjoys the classes.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Team Black Belt to any parent.
